PROGRESS UPDATE: 08H30

After making sure they were well rested, the team left at 5am.

Robbie Hunter joined in for the take off.

Ravi has fallen off his bike twice already.

Carolyn and Marius decided to take the scenic route and got lost in Vanderbijl Park. The camera man and Cindy were running around questioning newspaper vendors as to whether or not they had seen two brightly coloured cyclists. Carolyn and Marius were eventually tracked down, after they had happily cycled about 10km's in the wrong direction.

The team is now sitting on the side of the road enjoying a much deserved mid-morning break at the Vaal.

Heavy winds prevailing, no rain.

General consensus is that this is not for the fainthearted!
